De tweede presentatie van Origin-Oorsprong / The second presentation of Origin-Oorsprong

De tweede maand van het project Origin-Oorsprong was wederom een succes. Op de Lemelerberg hebben we veel bezoekers gehad; toevallige passanten, maar ook veel bezoekers die speciaal voor de kunstwerken kwamen. De maaltijd na een begrafenis was een gelegenheid om grootse verhalen over de overledene te vertellen, wat hem verder hielp richting het hiernamaals. Deze installatie maakt gebruik van een soundscape, die resulteerde uit een samenwerking tussen de kunstenaars en Jan Paul de Bondt.

The meal following a burial was a place to tell grandiose stories about the deceased in order to help them move forward into the afterworld. This installation utilizes a soundscape, which resulted from a collaboration between the artists and Jan Paul de Bondt.

De onheilspellende vorm van de jeneverbes werd omringt door bijgeloof. Schaduw en water vertegenwoordigen de mysterieuze lagen tussen twee werelden.

Superstition surrounded the ominous form cast by the Juniper tree. Shadow and water represented mysterious layers between two worlds.

De overledene werd vervoerd over de dodenweg, die van de oude heilige plaats naar de begraafplaats liep. Tijdens deze reis was het van cruciaal belang om op het pad te blijven.

The deceased would be transported on the death road leading from the old holy place to the burial place. During this journey it was crucial to remain on the path.

Het verstrekken van offers aan de goden was van vitaal belang voor het verkrijgen van balans, belangrijk voor het behoud van leven.

Kunst op de Lemelerberg

31 oktober & 1 november
vindt er een nieuwe presentatie plaats op
De Lemelerberg.

De kunstwerken zijn te bezichtigen tussen zonsopgang en zonsondergang. Deze werken zijn o.a. geïnspireerd op de maaltijd die na de begrafenis plaatsvond en het verband tussen bijgeloof en de manier waarop begraven werd.
Halverwege november vindt er een eind expositieplaats.

De Lemelerberg.

The art work can be visit between sunrise and sunset. These works are among other things inspired on the meal which took place after the burial and the link between superstition and the way the burial took place.
Halfway November there will be a final exhibition.

De eerste maand van het project Origin-Oorsprong was een succes. We hebben veel bezoekers gehad en ook veel reacties. Er stond een intervieuw in de Tubantia en in de Stentor. Tevens hebben de partners aandacht geschonken aan ons project via hun website of nieuwsbrief.
